News Corp Buys Australian Newspapers for $37 Million

The News Corp empire expands.

News Corp just keeps growing. Its latest expansion takes place down under, as it has acquired 72 regional Australian newspapers for $37 million.

The deal for APN News and Media’s Australian Regional Media (ARM) division includes 12 daily newspapers, 60 community publications and 30 sites.

“We look forward to working with the ARM team to secure the purchase of these strong newspaper brands in the growing regional centres in Queensland where we currently don’t have a presence,” said News Corp executive chairman Michael Miller, in a statement.
