New Yorker Festival Descends On Titular City

This weekend, let the very sophisticated, high-brow rumpus start. The New Yorker is bringing three days worth of literary celebrities, cartoonists, and esteemed editors in for enough panels and events that it might actually kick-start Condé Nast’s economy again. Check out some of these incredible (and already sold out, sorry) meetings of minds.

Neko Case talks with Sasha Frere-Jones: A Conversation with Music

Paired readings with: Daniyal Mueenuddin and Salman Rushdie, and George Saunders and Gary Shteyngart.

Shouts & Murmurs Live: With Jenny Allen, Woody Allen, Noah Baumbach, Yoni Brenner, Ian Frazier, Patricia Marx, David Owen, Amy Ozols, Simon Rich, Paul Rudnick, George Saunders, Paul Simms, and Calvin Trillin. Hosted by David Remnick.

More events can be found here, and for those of you playing along at home, The New Yorker will be live-blogging the entire thing on their website. We’ll be there as well, raising our hands and asking why cartoons of dogs drinking beer in top hats are still amusing.
