New Twitter Instant Notifications for iPhone = Battery Killer?
Twitter calls the new feature in the Twitter for iPhone app:
It can provide updates of “mentions” of your tweets (use your @username in a Twitter uttering) either via SMS or a push notification on your iPhone. I call it something different: battery killer. An active Twitter user who interacts with a lot of other Twitter users are going to get “mentioned” a lot. For some people, this might range from dozens to hundreds of mentions per day.
