New Media Index: Tweeters Ponder Shared Personal Facebook Data; Bloggers Ponder Jailbreaking iPhone

News links related to the publication of personal information from millions of Facebook users were the most-shared via Twitter, while bloggers focused their sharing on the price tag for the new Chevrolet Volt electric car, and the most-watched news and politics video on YouTube, for the second week in a row, was a report from Russia Today about the use of a parasailing donkey during a promotional stunt, according to the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism’s New Media Index for the week of July 26-30.

A total of 22 percent of news links shared via the blogosphere were related to the program created by Canadian cyber-security consultant Ron Bowes, which culled the information on 100 million Facebook users.
