New Manga eBookstore Launched in Japan & USA
NEC BIGLOBE, one of Japan’s leading ISPs, launched a new eBookstore and Android app, SUGOI BOOKS this week.
With only 150 titles in the US branch, SUGOI BOOKS is starting small. But NEC BIGLOBE plans to have 50 thousand titles by the end of 2012. This month’s lineup includes original manga based on modern Japanese literature and legends such as Portrait of Hell, Rashomon, Hachiko and The Setting Sun. By stocking only original works that are designed for mobile screens, SUGOI BOOKS aims to become the largest manga provider for users of smartphones and multimedia devices.
