New Hires in Mobile: Backflip Studios, Beeline Interactive, Big Fish Games, & More

Hiring in mobile gaming looks even more frenzied than last week, with 12 developers noting new team members, according to data from LinkedIn and other sources. Additionally, many companies hired more than the typical one or two individuals. After Glu Mobile's executive reshuffling, it picked up some hires for some more senior-level positions. Etienne Lamande moves up to head marketing operations at Glu Mobile, while ngmoco:) hires Michael Staskin as its new chief marketing officer. Here’s this week’s full list: Backflip Studios Brian Vinton, Contractor/Intern -- Backflip Studios shows its first bit of activity in a while, bringing on Vinton. Vinton was previously a concept artist for NGenius Games. Beeline Interactive (Capcom) Amy Oka, Sr. Manager, Business Planning -- Oka marks a pair of new Beeline Interactive hires this week. Oka moves over from a role as a business planning manager for Beeline's parent Capcom. Nicholas Hendriks, 2D Artist -- Also joining Beeline Interactive is Hendriks, a former illustration intern for Hitgrab. Big Fish Games Ian McLaughlin, Web Developer -- Now at Big Fish Games, McLaughlin was previously a project manager and web developer at DXM Productions. Chris Campbell, Helpdesk Specialist -- Campbell was previously a IT technician at the Kerry County Council's IT department, but is also currently a web developer for Red Onion Web Development. Foursquare Simon Favreau-Lessard, Software Engineer -- Favreau-Lessard kicks off a trio of new Foursquare hires. He was most recently a senior software engineer at Google. Brian Ballan, Business Development Intern -- Also joining Foursquare is Ballan, who is a former consultant at L.E.K. Consulting. Game Insight Andrey Ivanov, Marketing Manager -- Ivanov joinis Game Insight this week. Ivanov was formerly a student at the Institute of Europe of Russian Academy of Science. Gameloft Mark Ruggles, Senior Graphic Designer -- Gameloft makes a good number of new hires this week, starting with Ruggles, a former graphic artist, 3D artist, and UI designer for H.B. Studios. Constantin Ciprian Bacioiu, Game Designer -- In an internal change at Gameloft, Bacioiu shifts from a prior role as a QA engineer. Corentin Delprat, (Trainee) Game Design -- Delprat was previously a game design trainee for Pretty Simple Games. Sam Combs, Game Designer -- Combs was previously a STEP intern for the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration. Anuar Lomas, 3D Game Programmer -- Now a part of Gameloft, Lomas was most recently a game developer at Kaxan Games. Samuel Bernier, Senior Technical Game Designer/Level Designer -- Gameloft makes another internal change, moving Bernier form his prior role as a technical game designer. Seguin Gregoire, 3D Environmental Artist -- Gregoire was previously a 2D/3D artist for Eko Software. Francis Reigneau, Junior 3D Artist -- Reigneau was previously a student at Cégep Limoilou. Glu Mobile Anthony Settimi, Environment Artist -- Settimi joins Glu Mobile this week. He was previously an environment artist for recently acquired Griptonite Games. Etienne Lamande, Head of Marketing Operations ROW -- As noted prior, Etienne Lamande moves up at Glu Mobile to its new head of marketing operations ROW. Prior to this, Lamande was a senior product manager of EMEA and ROW. Derek Shiu, Animator -- Shiu was previously an art intern for Griptonite Games, which Glu acquired. Marc Hall, Lead Programmer -- Hall was also formerly from Griptonite Games, which Glu acquired. There, he was also a lead programmer. InMobi Raunak Agrawal, Software Engineer -- Joining InMobi this week, Agrawal was formerly a a software developer at Ver Se'Innovation Pvt. Limited. Jim Peter, Executive Associate -- Peter was previously a student at Christ University Institute of Management, Bangalore. Jet Set Games Kip Ricker, Software Engineer -- Jet Set Games makes a single hire this week. Ricker was most recently a software engineer for Black Ops Entertainment. Ngmoco Michael Staskin, Chief Marketing Officer -- In a big hire, ngmoco:) brings on Michael Staskin as its new chief marketing officer. Prior to this, Staskin was the vice president of marketing and communications at Sisal S.p.A. Hiro Obara, Operations Specialist, Mobage Developer Support -- Also joining the ngmoco team is Obara, a former assistant producer at Hudson Entertainment. Pocket Gems Kathleen Jacobs, QA Lead -- Pocket Gems shows activity, hiring on Jacobs. Jacobs was formerly a QA lead at ZeniMax Online Studios. Z2Live Gerrit Perkins, 3D Artist -- Joining Z2Live, Perkins was previously a contracted 3D artist (intern) for Reverie World Studios. Allen Ulbricht, Program Manager -- Also now a part of Z2Live, Ulbricht was previously a product manager for EarthLink.
