New Firmware Available for Older Sony Readers

Sony may have discontinued support for last year’s eReaders, but that doesn’t mean everyone has. eBook Applications, an independent eReader developer, has just released new firmware updates for the Sony Reader 350, 650, and 950.

eBook Aplications has spent a considerable amount of time working on this, and they’ve added a number of features that you might want. The firmware adds support for quite a few more eBook formats, including CHM, TXT, DJVU, FB2, PDB, CBR, CBZ, and PRC. It also includes a number of games and apps like Chess, Sudoku, and a calculator.Last but not least installing this firmware will also add support for a number of audio formats (MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, AAC).

The installation process is relatively straightforward and safe. All you need to do is download the installer and run it. The app should handle everything else.
