New Ed at Economist Spinoff

The Economist‘s luxury lifestyle spinoff mag Intelligent Life, which we last reported on in November, has a new editor. Tim De Lisle has been named as the publication’s editor, replacing former EIC Edward Carr — who will now double as editorial director of Intelligent Life and as business affairs editor at The Economist.

De Lisle, who moonlights as a rock critic for The Mail on Sunday, has been at the magazine since September 2007.

There’s also a new hire at the mag with an NYC pedigree: Former New Yorker/Vanity Fair London editor Julie Kavanagh is coming on board as a contributing editor.
