The Netflix-Qwikster FAIL Gets Its Own Song [Video]

The Netflix-Qwikster split looks like a major FAIL for the company, and Break Media has released a song to mark the occasion—the Netflix Fail Song.

As if the Netflix price hike back in July wasn’t bad enough, Netflix just made things even worse when their CEO, Reed Hastings, announced that they’d be splitting their DVD-by-mail service off into a separate service called Qwikster.  Although Qwikster will have some added benefits, such as a new videogame rental offering, it’s mostly just making users mad and causing many to rethink their options and decide whether it’s even worth it to stay on as a Netflix customer.  In short, the Netflix-Qwikster split looks like a major FAIL for the company, and Break Media has released a song to mark the occasion—the Netflix Fail Song.

Break.com’s Lead Creative of Original Content, Andy Signore, shared the video with me via email saying, “Everyone’s been complaining about all of Netflix’s recent missteps.  It felt like something good to touch upon in song!  After all, do people really need Netflix?  Hopefully this anthem helps unite frustrated customers everywhere—and gets Mr. Hastings to wise up and think twice about how he handled this Qwikster nonsense…”

Break has been all over technology lately with hilarious songs like ‘I Just Texted To Say I Love You’ and ‘The Google+ Song’, but I think this Netflix Fail Song has got to be my favorite so far.  It’s packed with great one-liners such as, “I wanna use Qwikster about as much as Friendster!” and “Of all the stupid things that you’ve done Netflix, this time I’m done! I am done…until you get porno!”

Check out the video below and let us know what you think.  Does the Netflix Fail Song capture your own feelings about the Netflix-Qwikster split?
