Netflix Expanding to Latin America

The service will be available in 43 new countries

Netflix announced today that its video streaming service is expanding to 43 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

In a statement on the company’s blog, vp of marketing Jessie Becker said, “Netflix members in the U.S. and Canada have really taken to watching instantly, and we feel great about being able to offer the same combination of convenience, choice, and value to people in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.”

Netflix subscribers in the region will be able to access the website in Spanish, Portuguese, or English, and as in the U.S., will be able to use Internet-connected devices to stream content over their TVs, or watch it on their computers or mobile gadgets.

Although there was no date set for the expansion, Becker said that the company would keep subscribers posted as to when the service will become available in the new regions. People can also sign up on the Netflix site to get an email alert when the service launches.
