NBC.com Adds Interactivity to Video Player

NBC.com spruced up its online video player, surrounding it with interactive elements related to the selected show and allowing users to take quizzes, view deleted scenes, read show-related blogs, and other related activities, AdAge.com reported.

Anheuser-Busch InBev’s Bud Light Golden Wheat is a sponsor of the new effort, according to AdAge, and viewers can choose between standard-definition and HD.

NBC Universal president of digital entertainment Vivi Zigler downplayed comparisons with Hulu, the online video site owned by NBCU and News Corp., telling AdAge.com the two sites represent “very different experiences,” with Hulu attracting users seeking a variety of shows and NBC.com targeting hard-core fans of particular series.
