Nascar Flavor

flavorpill_select.jpgLike most members of the new-media, we’re addicted to flavorpill. Its trusty cultural filter warms our hearts whenever it pops up in our inbox, and makes us feel like we’re actually cool and, occasionally, on the leading edge of hip in this town. (We realize, however, flavorpill does not make us sexier.)

Which is why we were pretty conflicted over today’s announcement that our beloved ‘pill is partnering with Anheuser Busch for Select Flavor, a program that will highlight emerging artists who will create ads using “variations on the Select crown, interpreted by each artist in captivating, unique ways.” More troubling, though, is that Budweiser “aims to position Budweiser Select as the new beer of choice for discerning, trend-setting adults.”

The Select brand desires to identify with the creative class, people who emphasize and appreciate quality in all aspects of life — be it design, fashion, travel, or cuisine — and proper beer is no exception. By aligning the Select brand with Flavorpill, Anheuser Busch commits to our audience’s forward-thinking sensibility and ever-evolving taste patterns.

For the record, we don’t often drink cheap beer, but when we do, we’ve been known to select PBR.

FLAVORPILL AND ANHEUSER BUSCH

SELECT FLAVOR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY-Flavorpill has just announced an exciting new partnership with Anheuser Busch. Leveraging Flavorpill’s five-plus years of expertise providing filtered cultural stimuli to a savvy, influential audience, the brewing giant aims to position Budweiser Select as the new beer of choice for discerning, trend-setting adults. Budweiser Select’s distinctive look and bold taste have enormous potential to capture this coveted market segment, and Flavorpill – curators of a brand-new design program – is the ideal partner to spread the Select message.

The program, known as Select Flavor (www.flavorpill.net/select/), will support emerging artists by highlighting slick and stylish designs from eight rising art stars. The Select Flavor artists will each create customized advertisements to run across the Flavorpill network. These creations will include variations on the Select crown, interpreted by each artist in captivating, unique ways.

The Select brand desires to identify with the creative class, people who emphasize and appreciate quality in all aspects of life – be it design, fashion, travel, or cuisine – and proper beer is no exception. By aligning the Select brand with Flavorpill, Anheuser Busch commits to our audience’s forward-thinking sensibility and ever-evolving taste patterns.
