MySpace’s Turn for New Mobile Site

MySpaceMobileNew.jpg‘Tis the season…to launch revamped mobile sites. Joining Twitter on Santa’s list of who’s been nice: MySpace, which debuted a new version of its mobile site specifically for users of the iPhone, Android and Palm WebOS, ReadWriteWeb reported.

The site’s most notable addition, according to ReadWriteWeb, is its built-in instant-messaging function, and it also features a button dedicated to photos and access to profiles, comment, activity streams and inboxes.

MySpace Mobile vice president and general manager John Faith posted on the MySpace Blog:

Today, we’re launching a new version of MySpace’s mobile Website m.myspace.com for iPhone, Android and Palm WebOS users. This new site is optimized to take advantage of the advanced browsers and screen sizes on these devices, allowing the user to navigate MySpace and take actions with a lot fewer clicks. The new site also includes a mobile-optimized version of MySpaceIM and notifies the user of new MySpace activity (new messages, comments, IM messages, etc) immediately. Finally, the redesigned photos layout makes browsing photos across MySpace a lot more fun.

While we are still hard at work on native applications on these and other mobile platforms, the mobile Web provides access to 75% of our users on the go, and we want to create a great user experience across all platforms.
