Earlier this year, BI Intelligence calculated an Engagement Index for major social networks and found that 60 percent of social media time is spent on smartphones and tablets.
Recent numbers by comScore, however, are even more impressive. The report found that Twitter users in the U.S. choose the network’s mobile apps over desktop 86 percent of the time. Pinterest users spend 92 percent of their time within the mobile app, and Instagram users spend nearly 98 percent of their time on mobile.
