Coming Soon to MSN: Breaking News Tweets

The MSN website caters to more than 425 million visitors each month, with many people having come to rely on the portal as their primary source of news.

Soon, users will begin to see real-time updates on the platform delivered by what has become the leading channel for breaking news: Twitter.

Here’s how it looks:

Coming Soon to MSN: Breaking News Tweets

Many of these Tweets will come from news organizations such as The New York Times (@nytimes), The Wall Street Journal (@WSJ), The Washington Post (@washingtonpost), @CNN, @AOL in the U.S.; Yomiuri Shimbun (@Yomiuri_Online) and Asahi Shimbun (@asahi) in Japan; @SkyNews, The Guardian (@guardian) and The Telegraph (@Telegraph) in the UK; @NDTV and Hindustan Times (@htTweets) in India; and @Le_Figaro and Le Monde (@lemondefr) in France. Tweets may also come from news sources such as government accounts, celebrities, spokespeople or eyewitnesses to an event.

“This is a great example of how Twitter can be integrated into any publisher’s website to enhance the experience for visitors by adding immediacy and interactivity into a webpage,” says Twitter.
