Movies: The ultimate big screen TV

We hate to tear you away from March Madness with something as trivial as movie news, so we’ve disguised it as sports news:

Per Reuters, “Movie theater operators hope to be screening live 3D sports events by 2007 in a bid to lure sports fans away from their home theater systems and bolster sagging mid-week ticket sales.”

On the upside, serving suds ‘n poultry might be just the thing the theaters need when facing a 6 percent drop in attendance in the States and nearly 8 percent worldwide last year.

On the downside, if you thought theater floors were sticky and gross before cinemas became sports bars, wait until you’re confronted with mounds of denuded buffalo wing bones and puddles of Miller Lite.
