Mother Jones Names Co-Editors-In-Chief

Following the abrupt exit of editor-in-chief Russ Rymer, Mother Jones has named a pair of editors to take on the post: senior editor Monika Bauerlein and deputy editor Clara Jeffery.

Bauerlien’s statement: “There’s never been a more critical time for the kind of journalism that Mother Jones practices. Our focus on reporting and fact-checking rather than opinion-slinging can serve as an antidote to deception.”

Jeffrey points out that they join Katrina vanden Heuvel (The Nation), Tina Brown (Vanity Fair and The New Yorker) and Deirdre English (Mother Jones) as “the only women to become editors of ‘thought leader’ magazines.”
