Facebook users love their moms, while Instagrammers love the Earth.

Facebook IQ revealed its Hot Topics on Facebook and Instagram for April 2020.

Mother’s Day topped Facebook overall and the holidays and events category, followed by Holy Week and Earth Day. Meanwhile, the order on Instagram was Earth Day, Mother’s Day, Holy Week.

Bill Gates dominated the people and culture category on Facebook, followed by the late John Prine and the late Irrfan Khan. Meanwhile, Instagrammers chatted about Sean Combs (Diddy), the late Bill Withers and Khan.

Users of both platform got caught up in The Last Dance, as Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls led the sports category, joined by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

The entertainment category was paced on Facebook by Saturday Night Live, Brad Pitt and Andrea Bocelli, while hip-hop captured Instagrammers’ fancy last month, led by Young Thug, Lil Jon and Timbaland.

Instagram users discussed Fabletics and Final Fantasy VII Remake the most in the brands and products category, while the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Wayfair topped the social network.

Finally, Facebook users raised a Stella Artois to Chef Hui Hi in the food and drink category last month, while Instagrammers turned to Coors Light to wash down their Lebanese cuisine.

Facebook IQ measured subjects that drove disproportionately high volumes of discussion on both social platforms, marking the latest in a Facebook-Adweek Hot Topics monthly series that began in 2015.
