Most Americans Don't Know That eBooks Are Available At Libraries

Twelve percent of Americans said that they have borrowed an eBook from the library in the past year, according to a new report from Pew Internet Research.

The report found that 62 percent of Americans are unaware that eBooks are available at the library. In addition, 22 percent said that they know that eBooks are available at their local library, while 14 percent said they know that their library does not lend out eBooks. According to the report, 58% of library card holders don’t know if their local library has eBook lending, and 55 percent of people who say that the library is “very important” are unaware of if their library lends eBooks.
