Morning Newsflash: NPR Hires Head Fundraiser

NPR has named Monique Hanson, currently VP and Chief Development Officer for YMCA, head fundraiser. NPR Prez Gary Knell announced the news in a release this morning.

She starts in early October and will report directly to Knell.

Hanson’s hire comes after an extensive national search. With two decades of fundraising experience, she will lead NPR’s fundraising programs — major and planned giving, and foundation grans, which together make up NPR’s third largest source of interview.
