More Inky Drama: CEO Given $81k For Transportation

Oh dear: just a week after we found that Rick Santorum was getting paid $1750 per Philadelphia Inquirer column, we find that the CEO of Philadelphia Newspapers, which owns the Inquirer, received $1500 a week for transportation expenses.

This is the company that declared bankruptcy in February.

Tierney received $650,000 in salary, a $350,000 bonus for 2008, and a $175,000 bonus for 2007. In total, his compensation came to $1.175 million, a number somewhat higher than previously disclosed, the AP reports.
