Mobile advertising company MobPartner has launched its MobWidget tool, aimed at introducing “smarter” app discovery to publishers. The HTML-based ad unit allows publishers to offer contextually relevant app suggestions to users, accelerating mobile revenue, and can be activated with a few lines of code, without the need for an SDK.
MobWidget was created with content and editorial publishers in mind, and offers recommendations for new apps based on the editorial content a user is currently reading. For instance, on a travel website, the MobWidget might offer airline or hotel apps as suggestions.
The MobWidget can be customized or branded to suit a publisher’s needs, from the number of apps displayed in the recommendations window to the color of the buttons next to each app. The ad unit is also compatible with MobBridge, MobPartner’s tool that works to convert desktop browsing into mobile app installs. MobBridge was released last December.
“With MobWidget, we are giving our customers the best of both worlds – effective performance-based advertising and a positive user experience that delivers improved conversion rates for monetization efforts,” said Vianney Settini, co-founder and CEO of MobPartner.
“The ability to customise to such a degree means that the experience can be tailored to an individual brand, creating a seamless blend of content and discovery. As mobile advertising becomes more widespread, the risk of consumers being turned off through badly designed or irrelevant advertising increases – that’s why MobPartner is focused on creating new advertising formats and technologies that promote positive engagement.”
MobWidget is compatible with all iOS and Android apps, as well as desktop and mobile websites. More information is available on MobPartner’s website.
