Mobile incubator YouWeb announces 9+ studio for consumer app funding

YouWeb, the incubator company behind OpenFeint and CrowdStar has launched a new studio that looks to help former game developers become founder-CEOs of new startups in the consumer apps space.

The new 9+ studio offers developers a nine-month mentorship opportunity, along with $110,000 of investment to bring their new companies and ideas to life. YouWeb CEO Peter Relan [pictured] says game developers are the perfect individuals to create consumer apps, due to their established experience in user acquisition and free-to-play monetization models.

Relan believes these developers have experienced fighting against larger organizations to make their games a success, and therefore understand how to accelerate development and growth without massive cash investments.
