Mobile Game Roundup: NHL SuperCard 2K17, Juggernaut Champions and More

Are you looking for a new mobile game to play this weekend? There are lots of new options available for you to try, including EA Sports FIFA Mobile from Electronic Arts. The soccer game allows each user to build and manage a soccer team and complete events in a variety of gameplay modes. Next, King launched Shuffle Cats this week. The multiplayer card game is based on the game of rummy, and it allows users to compete in two-player games as they make their way down Lucky Lane. Finally, Hasbro and Backflip Studios released My Little Pony: Puzzle Party. The puzzle game allows users to complete levels with Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy and other characters from the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic television series. Are you looking for something different to play? Here's a look at some of the additional mobile games that were released this week. NHL SuperCard 2K17 (Free on iOS, Android, Amazon) - This card battle game from 2K, Cat Daddy Games and Visual Concepts allows users to collect cards representing current National Hockey League players and compete in matches in multiple gameplay modes. Specifically, the game includes Quick Game and Season Modes, and it will also be updated with special events. In the Quick Game mode, users will compete in matches that are split into periods, with each period focusing on one or more card stats (goalie, skater, etc.). Users can select one or more cards to use in each period based on their stats. As players make decisions, the stats on their cards will be compared with the stats on their opponents' cards to determine the winner of each period. Meanwhile, the Season mode allows a user to compete against 29 other players for the Stanley Cup. Games in this mode are simulated. Users can collect additional cards for their decks as they play, and they can use unwanted cards to improve the cards they'd like to keep. Crap! I'm Broke: Out of Pocket ($1.99 on iOS, Android) - This life simulation game from Arcane Circus allows users to play mini-games representing odd jobs to earn money. One game may allow users to scrub plates as a dish washer, while another game will ask them to sort objects at a factory, and so on. Players will be able to use their money to pay their bills and buy food. Specifically, users will need to earn enough money during each timed month to pay their bills, and they must also make sure their character doesn't starve to death. Random events will occur as users play, which will raise the cost of their bills. When users have extra money, they can purchase items that may allow them to access higher paying jobs, among other perks. When users fail to pay their bills, they can allow these items to be repossessed so they can continue playing. However, if players don't have any items that can be repossessed, or if they allow their characters to starve, the game will end. Vector 2 ($1.99 on iOS) - This parkour-inspired running game from Nekki challenges users to survive while running through procedurally generated environments filled with traps. The game includes multiple gameplay environments, including laboratories, factory lines and spaceports. Users can unlock upgrades for their characters over time. Alphabet Rescue (Free on iOS) - This children's game from Sense of Wonder was designed for pre-K children, and it contains three different level types. Specifically, one level asks players to correctly type short words such as dog, cat and run, while another level asks them to type letters that match the letters falling from the sky. The final mode asks users to tap the image that matches the word on the screen. My Town: Grandparents ($2.99 on iOS) - This children's game from My Town Games was designed for children aged four to nine, and it allows users to explore nine different areas at the grandparents' house, including a garden, Dad's old bedroom and Grandpa's woodworking area, among others. The game allows users to plant more than 20 different flowers, vegetables and bushes, help Grandma cook in the kitchen and more. Juggernaut Champions (Free on iOS, Android) - This clicker or idle game from My.com challenges users to save the world of Haradan from evil forces by tapping on the screen to attack monsters. The faster players tap, the faster their character will attack enemies. Users will earn coins as they defeat enemies, which they can use to recruit additional heroes for their teams. These heroes will attack enemies automatically, even when players aren't tapping. Users can also spend coins on upgrades for their heroes. Finally, users can complete daily challenges and compete in tournaments to earn two additional currencies, which can be used to unlock upgrades for their teams.
