Midverse Studios Announces Invest+Publish Program for Mobile Developers

Midverse Studios has announced its new mobile games initiative, Invest+Publish, which looks to improve upon the expected relationship between game developers and game publishers. To do this, the company will partner with developers in long-term agreements, and invest strategically in these studios. In doing so, the company will also help game developers bring their games to the global market. As part of this initiative, once Midverse selects a development studio as a partner, they make a strategic investment in the company. These deals will result in multiple games, and will leverage Midverse’s cross platform technology. The company will also help developers license Hollywood properties to build new games based on brands users would easily recognize. "The mobile gaming eco-system has become very crowded, and for emerging developers to reach their full potential, they need help - not just financial, but also strategic - and existing mobile publishers aren't doing the job," said Mitch Liu, co-founder and president of Midverse Studios, in a statement. "The traditional publisher-developer model focuses on short-term one game ROI and not on long-term studio success.” With this announcement of Invest+Publish, Midverse has also announced the first two developers in the program: Game of Thrones Ascent developer Disruptor Beam [pictured], and Afterland developer Imaginary Games. "As one of the members of the Invest+Publish program, we're looking forward to working with Midverse Studios, a partnership that will complement our community-centric approach to mobile game development," added Jon Radoff, CEO and founder of Disruptor Beam. "We value Midverse's expertise, which goes beyond just development insight to also user acquisition and retention. Our first major game, Game of Thrones Ascent, has already been hugely successful on mobile platforms, but we are looking to expand our reach even further with future games and with Midverse's counsel.” Midverse’s AppEngage Network helps developers monetize their games and acquire new users. Earlier this year, the network was updated with AppViral, a rewards platform that incentivizes players to invite their friends into a game by rewarding them with in-game currency when their friends accept those invitations.
