Michelle Obama’s new book about gardening American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America, has been released as an eBook that “has the functionality of an app.”
Mobile development company Smashing Ideas worked with Crown Publishing Group on the eBook. In a blog post, Adam Michel, creative director at Smashing Ideas, and Ben Roberts, director of ePublishing at Smashing Ideas, explain how they created the interactive book: “…we produced the book in iBooks Author, taking advantage of its navigation systems and slide shows, as well as its ability to include HTML5 widget code.
