Rep. Michele Bachmann made her bid for the Republican presidential nomination official last night during the Republican presidential debate in New Hampshire, and her campaign continues on Facebook.

She posted a new video on her Facebook page explaining her position as a “constitutional conservative.”

Bachmann becomes yet another Republican contender to turn to Facebook as a means of either breaking the news that their bid is official, or using the platform as a primary means of sharing information with her supporters. Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty used the social networking site to launch his candidacy in 2012 last month.

We learned in a recent study that Facebook is a reliable vehicle for sharing videos that eventually turn viral, so it’s one of the reasons these candidates are relying on the site to spread their message.

Most news outlets are claiming that Bachmann’s performance last night was stellar. While reports say Gov. Mitt Romney was the winner, many politicos are saying Bachmann came in second.

More so than perhaps other GOP presidential hopefuls, Facebookers are using the site to both share their support for, and poke some fun of, the Minnesota Congresswoman.

There’s the Michele Bachmann 2012 page, as well as a band in Washington, D.C., known as Michele Bachmann Overdrive.
