FBLA endorses local book-sellers, and if you’re in need of summer reading material, why not drop by Village Books in the Palisades tonight, and meet Suzan Hanala Stadner. Her book, with the somewhat off-putting title (The Village Voice called the title offensive and they should know from offensive) of My Parents Went Through the Holocaust and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt, is purported to be a traumedy. (Tragedy + Time = Comedy, duh) Here’s a quote:

My parents survived Hitler. I survived my parents. Ozzie and Harriet they weren’t. Going through the Holocaust made them cranky…I didn’t go through the Holocaust, the Holocaust went through me.

Hanala’s website is full of praise from such unlikely bookworms as Eddie Van Halen, Alec Baldwin, and back from the dead for this one appearance only, Marlon Brando.

She’s also <a href="weighed in on Mel, but then, who hasn’t?
