Media mayhem: Berlusconi gets belligerent

Italians have always been hot-blooded lovers of drama. But even the biggest fans of Puccini are probably a tad concerned that the Italy’s media mogul opera is getting out of hand.

Reuters just reported that “Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi rejected centre-left leader Romano Prodi‘s claim to victory in general elections on Tuesday and alleged widespread voting irregularities, throwing Italy into political chaos.”

Political analysts say that even “best case”? Two months for a new government to be sworn in.

Forget about Prodi punishing Berlusconi’s Mediaset – he’ll be lucky to take control of anything at all, at this rate.
