Forbes’ annual “America’s Richest Families” list is littered with old money, media families. The Cox family is ranked the highest at number five, with a net worth of $41 billion.
Following behind the Coxs are the Hearsts (#9, $28 billion), the Newhouses (#11, 18.5 billion) and the Ziffs (#14, $14.4 billion).
Despite all that cash, none of the media families can touch the number one clan on Forbes’ list. The Walton family of Wal-Mart fame is worth $130 billion.
