Media Buyers: 'No Real Sense' More Layoffs Coming

Media buyers, welcome to the other side of the recession.

Out of the buyers at ad agencies polled by Media Life, 44 percent had seen major cuts in the last year, and more than a quarter (28 percent) agreed that there was “no real sense” that further jobs were at risk.

43 percent of buyers said that the economy was still flat, and 19 percent think it’s gotten worse, but a third say there’s been an “ever so slight” improvement.

9 percent of you media buyers are a bit depressive, (or realistic?) saying that ad spending will never return to previous levels; the majority of the buyers say the recovery will come in either Q1 2010 (40 percent) or Q3-Q4 2010 (26 percent).
