mBlox: 2.5b Transactions Served in '08
Mobile transaction network mBlox is crowing that it enabled more than 2.5 billion application-to-person SMS transactions last year, a 30% growth over 2007. These transactions had a combined retail value of some $500 million.
The company also saw strong growth in mobile-originated and -terminated messages (MT), with total volume of MT messages in December up 40% year-over-year.
Overall, mBlox averaged 79 mobile transactions per second throughout 2008.
Its ability to see such high mobile transaction figures despite the current economic client clearly demonstrates “the continued vitality of the market for mobile messaging-based services,” mBlox said.
