Mark Schoofs Leaves ProPublica for BuzzFeed

Mark Schoofs, the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, is leaving ProPublica for BuzzFeed, where he’ll lead the site’s investigative unit. The New York Times reports that at BuzzFeed, Schoofs will oversee a team of six journalists.

Schoofs had been with ProPublica since 2011. Prior to that he was an investigative reporter for The Wall Street Journal. In 2000, while Schoofs worked at The Village Voice, he won a Pulitzer for International Reporting.

Schoofs told the Times that at BuzzFeed, he plans to use investigative reporting “to expose wrongdoing, hold people accountable and tell stories that need to be told.”
