March Job Loss Predictions Begin To Roll In: WANTED Prognosticates 50k Loss

WANTED Technologies predicts that the U.S. economy shed 52,000 jobs in March, based on rises in unemployment claims and a slight softening of labor demand.

Last month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that jobs fell by 36,000 workers, and some analysts said that that number was artificially low because of the mega snowstorms in much of the country during the week the BLS was doing its counting.

That means that many people were hoping for a large positive jump in March’s results; if WANTED’s prediction is right, we have a still longer road ahead.

More indicators will come out next week in advance of the BLS’s report on March job losses, out April 2.
