Maggie Haberman Headed to the NY Times

maggiePolitico reporter and CNN political analyst Maggie Haberman is reportedly headed to The New York Times, according to Politico‘s Dylan Byers.

“Huge, huge congrats to the incomprable @maggiepolitico, who is headed to the @NYTimes !! … just announced in internal memo,” tweeted Byers.

Haberman will anchor First Draft, the site’s political news page, and “help drive our campaign news during the day,” announced the Times‘ Washington bureau chief Carolyn Ryan this morning. Haberman, who previously worked at the New York Post, was a lead reporter on the 2012 presidential campaign and, more recently, covered Hillary Clinton‘s potential bid for president in 2016.

This is the second big piece of news out of Politico, following editor Susan Glasser’s announcement of the hiring of media critic Jack Shafer earlier this morning.
