Madonna: Criticized for “Christ-bashing”

Quite honestly, we’re surprised it even took this long for the howls of protest to come out of the Catholic League.

Nonetheless, come they have.

Knock off the Christ-bashing,” Catholic League president Bill Donohue said in a statement Monday. “It’s just pathetic.”

Donohue, was referring to Madonna on the cross at the Forum last night. He’s fulminator-in-chief for the Catholic League, which contrary to its name does not actually offer Christian vs. Christian sporting events, but rather usually attacks gays and progressives. Donahue, at various intervals, has used his pulpit to decry the “gay death style”; said that Sen. John Kerry “never found an abortion he couldn’t justify,” and says that “Hollywood is controlled by secular Jews who hate Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular.”

In this respect he’s totally wrong: Actually, I’m a religious Jew.
