Lufthansa Upgrades MySkyStatus

LufthansaMySkyStatus.jpgLufthansa announced additional features for its MySkyStatus service, which launched in October to automatically send flight-status updates to users’ Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The airline said MySkyStatus users can now send updates via email, with the ability to include personalized messages and to select who will receive the email updates and when.

MySkyStatus also now includes a drop-down feature that allows users to share their reasons for flying.

Lufthansa manager of marketing for the Americas Markus Roos said:

Social networking has become an essential communications tool for many and especially for people on the go. Since its launch in October 2009, visitors to MySkyStatus.com have come from over 180 countries, resulting in some 17,000 automatic tweets posted to keep family and friends up-to-date about their travel status.
