Local News Readers Share More Stories on Social Media [STUDY]

People who prefer and read local news media are more likely to share that content on social media sites than those who consume their news from national sources, reveals a new study.

A study of more than 2,300 adults by Advance Digital Media Group found that 53 percent of local news readers go on to post those stories on social media, compared to 47 percent of national news readers.

Additionally, local news readers are more likely to leave comments, follow links to related articles and talk about the articles in person.
