First Of Its Kind: Live #Tubeathon Variety Show To Support Homeless Kids

Most folks want to give back this holiday season, but have trouble finding the time.

Virgin Mobile Live and What’s Trending bring the giving (and some pretty awesome entertainment) to you during the “First Annual Tube-a-Tweet-a-Thon Holiday Spectacular.”

And it happens tonight.

You can watch the Tube-a-Tweet-a-Thon on December 13th at 6 pm Pacific/9 pm Eastern RIGHT HERE.

Tweet #Tubeathon! For every tweet @VirginMLive will donate $1 dollar to @CovenantHouse.

What’s Covenant House? It “was founded in 1972 with the simple, profound mission to help homeless kids escape the streets.” And today they “are the largest privately funded charity in the Americas providing loving care and vital services to homeless, abandoned, abused, trafficked, and exploited youth.”

Social Times reports that Ron Faris, Head of Brand Marketing for Virgin Mobile USA says, “This event combines those classic 1960s old school variety shows with the digital smartphone culture of today to host something special for people in need, including those crippled by Hurricane Sandy.  It’s a nostalgic take on showcasing the hottest new bloggers, bands, and YouTube personalities curated by our friends at What’s Trending.  With millions of fans tuning in, we hope to get Covenant House some much-needed support for its work around the country and back on its feet in New York and New Jersey.”

How’s THAT for giving back. Will you be tuning in?
