LinkedIn Recommends You Not Use the Word 'Creative' In Your Profile

LinkedIn has tallied up the most overused words in U.S. user profiles. Topping the list: “creative.” Which means it’s actually not “creative” to say that you’re “creative.” It’s quite uncreative, truth be told. See that? Ha.

Other words on the list are “effective,” “communication skills,” and “innovative,” which was actually on the list in 2010, so you might want to heed the warning this year.

“Competition for opportunities can be fierce, so craft your LinkedIn Profile and resume to stand out from the professional pack,” says LinkedIn’s connection director Nicole Williams, in a statement.

The announcement also lists overused buzzwords from around the world and tips to lure viewers to your profile.
