LinkedIn: Here’s How to Turn Off Read Receipts, Typing Indicators

Stop others from knowing when you've seen their messages

Did you know that LinkedIn allows you to turn off read receipts and typing indicators, so that other users won’t be able to see when you’ve read their messages or are typing a reply? Our guide will show you how to do this within the LinkedIn mobile application.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the LinkedIn app on iOS. Also note, when you turn these features off, you also won’t be able to see read receipts and typing indicators for other users.

Step 1: Tap your profile picture in the top-left corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Tap “Communications.”

Step 4: Tap “Receipts and indicators.”

Step 5: Tap the toggle to turn these features off. The toggle will turn gray, and the word “On” will change to the word “Off.”
