Lester Holt Is Hosting the 2017 Ellie Awards

Finalists will be announced Thursday.

From presidential debate moderator to emcee, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt has been tapped to host the American Society of Magazine Editors’ annual awards show, dubbed the Ellies for the award winners receive, an elephant stabile designed by artist Alexander Calder.

“At the beginning of every year more than 500 magazine editors and publishers gather to celebrate the best of print and digital journalism,” said ASME president Dana Points in a statement. “This year we are delighted to share the occasion with one of our most distinguished television colleagues, Lester Holt.”

The Ellie Awards Annual Gala will take place in New York at Cipriani Wall Street Feb. 7. Finalists will be announced Thursday on ASME’s Twitter feed. You can also put in your votes for the Readers’ Choice Awards on the org’s Facebook page.

Last year The Atlantic took home the Magazine of the Year award. Which publication will get the copper elephant this year for that award and others?
