Layoffs at ABC News Radio, Jackson Miss.'s WDBD

Up to 20 staffers from the editorial, production, and technical departments at ABC News Radio were let go yesterday, our TVNewser colleagues report.

ABC News Radio is the largest news radio network in the country.

Meanwhile, WDBD-Channel 40, in Jackson, Miss., eliminated 10 full-time positions, “temporarily suspended” working hours for some part-time employees, and suspended the stations weekend newscast after its new owners took over Thursday.

“This is nothing more than a right-sizing that’s in line with the industry at this time,” the station’s new general manager, Marc Jaromin, told
