Broken Horn? images-83.jpgIn a piece that basically declares the demise of Warner Bros. President Alan Horn, Claudia Eller says the studio exec’s red-hot streak “ended with a thud.”

“The costly disaster movie Poseidon, director M. Night Shyamalan’s fantasy thriller Lady in the Water, the computer-animated The Ant Bully and the urban drama ATL could lose more than $120 million combined.”

Eller’s piece blames a host of culprits — bad movies, bad timing, cushy outside financing deals that might make Warner more apt to take risks.

Our theory? Voodoo dolls. Last year, Warner slashed 400 jobs. That’s 400 tiny little karmic needles to the proverbial groin.

The move might eventually kill the gift basket. But in the short-term, it’ll do wonders for the tax man’s wardrobe.
