Lance Ulanoff Leaving PCMag.com, Dan Costa Upped to Editor-in-Chief

After 16 years with the PCMag -- first in print and later solely online -- Lance Ulanoff (left) is leaving the Ziff Davis brand for "other interests." Dan Costa, who has been Executive Editor of PCMag.com, is being upped to Editor-in-Chief as well as Senior VP of Content for Ziff Davis. Costa will also continue to oversee the PCMag Labs. Costa (right) joined PCMag in 2005 as senior editor. Before that, he was Editor of the CNET Fortune Technology Review, managing editor at Workstationplanet.com, and columnist at Computer Shopper. “It’s an honor to take on leadership of one of the most trusted and valued media brands in the tech category,” said Costa in a new release. “I look forward to building upon our current success of being the consumer’s primary source for timely and reliable information about new products and new technologies.” After 27 years in print, the January, 2009 issue of PCMag was the final edition. Costa, who will be only the sixth person to hold this position in 29 years, will continue to oversee the renowned PCMag Labs, providing high quality testing and reviews that consumers relish and rely on for product information. A prolific technology journalist for 17 years, Costa began working at PC Magazine in 2005 as a senior editor, covering consumer electronics. His most position with Ziff Davis was Executive Editor, Reviews.
