Ladies’ Home Journal Launches Can This Marriage Be Saved? Webisodes

LHJCanThisMarriageBeSaved.jpgCan This Marriage Be Saved? has been a column in Ladies’ Home Journal since 1953, and now the Meredith-owned magazine is launching it as a series of Webisodes, starting off with three of them: Our Dog is Coming Between Us, We Never Have Sex Anymore, and His Mother is Tearing Us Apart.

The Webisodes, based on the country’s longest-running magazine column, will link back to LHJ.com content including quizzes, slideshows, polls, and discussion boards, and they will be fully sharable via social-media outlets and embeddable on blogs and other sites.

Ladies’ Home Journal editor in chief Sally Lee said:

We like to think of Can This Marriage Be Saved? as the original reality entertainment — a “he said/she said” that lets spouses tell their stories to a therapist, who gives them advice and then reveals how the marriage turned out. It continues to be our best-read column, and we think the time is right to bring this modern, relevant concept to the Web and other new-media outlets.

Our goal is really to be the brand that women think of when they think of marriage, and we have the content and capabilities to do just that.

Meredith vice president of digital content Dan Hickey added:

There is a growing demand for fun and informative entertainment on the Web, and Can This Marriage Be Saved? is the perfect vehicle to deliver this. The interactive possibilities are endless, and we are excited to watch how the marriage activity grows on LHJ.com as a result of this.
