KTLK Hires Former NBC4 Anchor David Cruz

In what looks like a direct response to the John and Ken controversy from last September, Clear Channel has hired former NBC4 anchor David Cruz to host a daily afternoon talk show on KTLK (1150-AM) from 3-6 p.m.

The David Cruz Show starts Monday and will air at the same time as John and Ken on KFI.

“This is a fresh new look at Southern California through the eyes of a well-known, veteran network television and radio journalist very familiar with the Latino community in the nation’s second-largest market,” Clear Channel Radio Los Angeles president Greg Ashlock said in a statement.

Cruz spent 12 years at NBC4 as a news anchor and reporter, winning both National and Regional Emmy Awards.

“We are delighted that Clear Channel is launching a new show – the David Cruz Show – that reflects its commitment to Los Angeles’ large, diverse and growing Latino community.
