Kornheiser Promises Revenge

    Speaking of the Washington Post, superstar sports columnist Tony Kornheiser (left) pranced unannounced into the Washington Post Radio studio Monday, as David Burd and Jessica Doyle were doing the morning show. Kornheiser promised that his show, which debuts Tuesday morning at 8:30, will be about two things – himself and getting enough food every morning. And he vowed to “get even” with people he says have dissed him in the past, three in particular. Burd pressed him but he would not reveal the three names. “I’ll name them tomorrow or maybe Wednesday,” said Kornheiser, who added, “Eventually it will be about killing all the wounded.” Kornheiser was in the WTOP/WTWP “glass-enclosed nerve center” in Northwest DC to do a “dry run” with his new sidekicks. As DCRTV has already reported, they include WTOP “newsguy-with-a-sense-of-humor” Brennan Haselton and WTOP Entertainment Editor Joe Barber. Also with him were “manservant Nigel” and longtime producer at WTEM, Marc Sterne. And one surprise: the woman Kornheiser always refers to in his newspaper columns as “my best friend Nancy.” Sources at 3400 Idaho Avenue say they do not know if Kornheiser will reveal her identity. “He’s full of surprises,” said Washington Post Radio Program Director Greg Tantum. “The dry run had us all in tears. It was so funny and so good I wish we had put it on the air.” Tantum added that Kornheiser was in a great mood despite the fact that the key to the garage where his private parking spot sits would not work. And Kornheiser complained the bagels supplied were “goyische bagels” and not real bagels……
