Amazon’s Kindle ebook hardware and the free Kindle ebook reader software for a wide variety of desktop and mobile platforms succeeded in making ebook reading the norm instead of a tech-geek-only activity. For all of the convenience and even cost savings the Kindle has brought, it has not been able to to be involved in one of the most basic activities related to physical books: Borrowing one.
