KCET To Divorce PBS?

It’s not an easy time for media, so it’s no surprise that KCET is among the struggling. The Los Angeles public television station is cash strapped, and has lost several staffers in multiple rounds of layoffs. What is surprising is that things are rough enough that executives are considering drastic measures to keep the station alive. James Rainey writes in his On The Media column:

The options include selling the station’s historic Sunset Boulevard studios or banding together with KOCE of Orange County and other local public TV stations to save costs and coordinate programming.
